Which companies sponsor visas for product development managers in South Carolina?
Michelin North America (headquartered in Greenville), BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, and Bosch are among the most active sponsors for product development managers in South Carolina. Medical device and biotech companies in the Charleston area, including MUSC Health affiliates and contract manufacturers, also file sponsorships for these roles. Larger multinational employers in the Upstate region file the highest volume of H-1B visa petitions for product development positions.
Which visa types are most common for product development manager roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product development manager roles in South Carolina, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with multinational employer backgrounds may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if moving into a managerial role from an overseas affiliate. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most product development manager sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region account for the largest share of product development manager sponsorship activity, driven by the automotive and advanced manufacturing supply chain anchored by BMW and Michelin. Charleston is a growing secondary market, particularly in aerospace and biotech. Columbia, home to state government contractors and University of South Carolina research partnerships, also generates a smaller but consistent volume of sponsored product development roles.
How to find product development manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find product development manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina. The platform filters listings to show employers actively open to sponsoring work visas, so you can focus on roles in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Charleston without sorting through companies that don't sponsor. Search by role and state to surface current openings from manufacturing, automotive, and biotech employers across the state.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for product development managers in South Carolina?
South Carolina's concentration of foreign-owned manufacturers, particularly German automotive firms and French tire producers, means many product development manager roles are embedded within multinational corporate structures already experienced with U.S. visa sponsorship. Employers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific location and role, which varies between Greenville-Spartanburg and Charleston metro areas. The state's strong engineering pipeline from Clemson University also influences how employers frame degree requirements in their LCA filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product development manager jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
