Which companies sponsor visas for product leads in South Carolina?
Blackbaud and Benefitfocus, both headquartered in Charleston, have established sponsorship histories for product and technology roles. BOSCH's North American operations in Charleston and Michelin's U.S. headquarters in Greenville also sponsor product leads in manufacturing technology. Larger enterprise software firms and healthcare IT companies operating in Columbia round out the sponsoring employer pool for this role in the state.
Which visa types are most common for product lead roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product leads in South Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, business, or engineering. Candidates with exceptional track records may pursue the O-1A. Australians working in product may also qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most product lead sponsorship jobs?
Charleston is the leading city for product lead sponsorship in South Carolina, driven by its concentration of software and fintech companies. Columbia, as the state capital, hosts enterprise tech firms and government-adjacent software vendors. Greenville has a smaller but growing product community tied to manufacturing technology and advanced industry. Remote-friendly roles based in other states but assigned to South Carolina offices also appear occasionally.
How to find product lead visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse product lead roles in South Carolina without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Charleston, Columbia, or Greenville opportunities. Migrate Mate aggregates roles from companies with active sponsorship histories, which saves significant research time for international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for product lead sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina does not have a state income tax structure unique enough to significantly affect sponsorship decisions, but employers filing Labor Condition Applications must pay prevailing wages set by the Department of Labor for the specific metro area. Columbia and Charleston fall under different prevailing wage determinations, so compensation packages can differ between cities. South Carolina's Clemson and University of South Carolina programs also create a local pipeline that some employers tap before sponsoring internationally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
