INTRODUCTION
This is an exempt, full-time position and must adhere to the regulations stipulated in the Mount Marty University Employee Handbook. The IT Support Specialist provides overall technology support to staff, faculty and students for the IT Department including: managing issue tracking; providing support on issue resolution; tracking inventory of computers, laptops and other hardware devices; maintaining classroom technology and video conferencing systems; and administering basic telephone systems.
Mission:
To assist the Information Technology Department in supporting the universities technology needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support for students, faculty, and staff on technology related issues including university computing hardware and educational-related software
- Assist immediate supervisor with hardware technology planning
- Oversee tracking of all computers and mobile device inventory
- Facilitate the improvement, repair, and maintenance of lab and classroom technology
- Train, coordinate tasks, and schedule work study students
- Manage all issue tracking within the IT Department
- Perform basic telephone system maintenance and controller documentation
- Perform basic printer/copier/fax maintenance and documentation
- Maintain IT website FAQ's, portal, knowledgebase, issue tracking and helpdesk documents
- Work with the IT team to maintain reliability and performance of the network and servers
- Provide after-hours maintenance as needed for critical systems
- Provide recommendations for the improvement of the university IT infrastructure, services and systems
- Responsible for set-up and support of audio/visuals needs including live streams during on-campus events
- Provide support for the University's Training platforms
- Additional duties as assigned by VP of Technology
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with a wide variety of software, operating systems and audio-visual equipment
- Demonstrated technical and customer services skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
- Commitment to the mission of Mount Marty University
