Job Purpose
Develop and implement new or improved methods, tooling, and machine designs to resolve engineering challenges involved in the manufacturing process. Create and maintain a culture of problem-solvers through the use of Lean Principles.
This role will be involved in our Raven Applied Technologies facility where we manufacture precision agriculture products. This position will specifically be involved in our mechanical assembly areas of the Sioux Falls, SD plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent manufacturing through new product introductions.
- Evaluate, review, and design systems/processes to increase production capabilities to improve quality, efficiency, ergonomics, and safety.
- Provide day to day support for the manufacturing of products to insure meeting customer requirements including the troubleshooting of production problems throughout the plant using structured problem-solving tools.
- Mentor and/or lead continuous improvement projects through the use of Lean Principles.
- Conduct engineering studies with the manufacturing team to determine root cause and corrective actions to quality issues.
- Prepare and deploy improvements in tool or equipment design. Assist with the capital procurement process.
- Design flow lines or floor layouts to promote efficiency through the use of tools such as Lean Principles.
- Perform or direct major repair or installation of production equipment.
- Train team members of proper utilization of production tools, procedures, and equipment.
- Keep abreast new developments in the fields of engineering design, methods, and applications.
- Establish piece rates by utilizing standard data and time/motion studies.
- May evaluate actual costs and determine causes for overruns in time and materials.
- Demonstrates support for company culture in their daily actions.
- May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
- Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Manufacturing required. Engineering fields applicable to this position: Production, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical.
- At least two years of engineering experience.

Pay Transparency
The annual salary for this role is USD $74,625.00 - $114,425.00 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
