Search Manufacturing Jobs in TennesseeManufacturing CPT Sponsorship Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
Which manufacturing companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in Tennessee?
Several large manufacturers in Tennessee have established relationships with universities and accept CPT-authorized students for internship and co-op placements. Companies like Volkswagen Group of America in Chattanooga, Nissan North America in Smyrna, Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, and Bridgestone Americas in Nashville have historically hosted student workers. CPT authorization must come from your school, and each employer's participation depends on their active internship programs at the time you apply.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Chattanooga and Nashville account for a large share of manufacturing CPT opportunities, driven by automotive and advanced manufacturing operations. Kingsport and Johnson City in the Tri-Cities region offer openings in chemical and materials manufacturing, particularly around Eastman Chemical. Memphis has logistics-adjacent manufacturing roles, while Smyrna and Spring Hill host significant automotive production activity tied to Nissan and General Motors respectively.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles that align directly with a student's degree program are the core requirement for CPT eligibility. In Tennessee manufacturing, that typically includes industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, quality assurance, supply chain management, process engineering, and manufacturing operations internships. The position must be integral or directly related to your academic program, and your Designated School Official must approve it before you begin work.
How do I find manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse manufacturing roles in Tennessee that are open to F-1 CPT students. Rather than sorting through general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where employers have indicated sponsorship eligibility, saving time during a period when your CPT authorization timeline may be tight. Search by state and industry to narrow results to Tennessee manufacturing openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Tennessee manufacturing?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which is a practical financial detail for CPT students to be aware of when comparing offers across states. More relevant to CPT specifically, some Tennessee manufacturers operate on co-op schedules aligned with regional universities like University of Tennessee Knoxville and Tennessee Tech, meaning positions may be structured as full-semester placements rather than summer internships. Confirm your school's CPT terms match the employer's expected schedule before accepting an offer.
