Which manufacturing companies in Oregon sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Oregon manufacturers with histories of hiring international students through CPT include Intel (Hillsboro), Precision Castparts (Portland), Daimler Trucks North America (Portland), and Leatherman Tool Group. Larger manufacturers with formal university recruiting programs are generally more familiar with CPT authorization requirements, though sponsorship availability varies by role, department, and academic term.
Which cities in Oregon have the most manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the highest concentration of manufacturing CPT opportunities, driven by semiconductor fabrication and aerospace components. Eugene and Corvallis see activity tied to proximity to the University of Oregon and Oregon State University, with food processing and industrial equipment manufacturers in the Willamette Valley also hiring CPT students.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that qualify for CPT must be directly related to your field of study and approved by your DSO. In Oregon manufacturing, qualifying positions commonly include process engineering, quality assurance, supply chain operations, manufacturing engineering, and semiconductor process technician roles. Positions in production management and industrial automation also appear frequently, particularly at electronics and aerospace manufacturers in the Portland metro.
How do I find manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters manufacturing jobs in Oregon by visa type, including F-1 CPT, so you can focus on employers already open to sponsoring your work authorization. Rather than sorting through general job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces Oregon manufacturing roles where CPT is a realistic option, saving time during the narrow academic term windows when CPT authorization applies.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in manufacturing?
Oregon's manufacturing sector is heavily tied to semiconductor production, which often requires background checks and export control compliance under EAR or ITAR regulations. Some roles at companies like Intel or Precision Castparts may be restricted to U.S. persons, which excludes most F-1 students. Confirming export control requirements with the employer before applying is important, as these restrictions are separate from CPT authorization and determined by the employer, not your DSO.
