Which companies sponsor visas for food supervisors in Tennessee?
Large food manufacturing companies with Tennessee operations are the most active sponsors for food supervisor roles. Tyson Foods has processing facilities in the state, as do other poultry and meat producers concentrated in western and middle Tennessee. Hospitality groups operating hotel dining and large-scale catering operations in Nashville also sponsor periodically. Sponsorship is more common at the corporate or plant management level than in front-line shift supervisor positions.
Which visa types are most common for food supervisor roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa applies when a food supervisor role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as food science or operations management. The EB-3 employment-based green card is another pathway used by food manufacturers for skilled or professional workers. Some multinational food companies also use the L-1 visa to transfer supervisors from foreign operations into Tennessee facilities.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most food supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Memphis sees the highest concentration of food manufacturing employment in Tennessee, driven by its role as a regional logistics and processing hub. Nashville follows, particularly in food service management tied to its expanding hospitality industry. Chattanooga has a growing food production presence, and smaller cities like Jackson and Shelbyville host poultry and livestock processing plants that employ supervisory staff.
How to find food supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for food supervisor roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform covers opportunities across food manufacturing, QSR management, and hospitality operations statewide. Filtering by Tennessee and the food supervisor category on Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor work visas.
Are there state-specific considerations for food supervisor visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee's food industry is heavily weighted toward poultry and meat processing, which means many food supervisor openings are in plant or production environments rather than restaurant settings. Employers filing H-1B or PERM applications must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific county where the job is located, which varies between urban markets like Nashville and rural processing communities. A food science or related degree strengthens sponsorship eligibility significantly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food supervisor jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
