Which companies sponsor visas for food supervisors in Texas?
Large hospitality, healthcare, and food service companies in Texas are the most consistent sponsors for food supervisor roles. Employers like Aramark, Sodexo, Compass Group, and major hotel chains operating in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth have filed Labor Condition Applications for food service supervisory positions. Hospital systems and university dining operations are also active sponsors, as their HR teams are experienced with H-1B visa and other work visa processes.
Which visa types are most common for food supervisor roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used category when employers sponsor food supervisors, but it requires demonstrating the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which can be more difficult for some food supervisor positions than for technical roles. The H-2B visa covers temporary non-agricultural workers and is sometimes used for seasonal food service roles. Candidates with specific national backgrounds may also be eligible for TN visa or E-3 visas depending on their citizenship.
Which cities in Texas have the most food supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth account for the largest share of food supervisor sponsorship activity in Texas, driven by their size, corporate headquarters, and major convention and hospitality sectors. San Antonio's tourism industry and large military installation dining contracts create additional demand. Austin's growing tech-sector corporate dining and expanding restaurant industry have also increased sponsorship activity there in recent years.
How to find food supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the U.S., including food supervisor positions in Texas. You can filter directly by state and role to see employers who are actively hiring and have a sponsorship track record. This is more focused than general job searching because listings are screened for sponsorship relevance, saving time for candidates on time-sensitive work authorization.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for food supervisors seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how prevailing wage calculations compare to take-home pay relative to other states, though the Department of Labor sets prevailing wages by metropolitan area regardless. Houston and Dallas are designated H-1B-heavy metros, meaning USCIS and DOL have clear wage data for food service supervisory roles there. Texas's large hospitality and healthcare sectors also mean more employers have existing immigration counsel on retainer, which tends to streamline the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food supervisor jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
