Tips for Finding H-2B Sponsorship Jobs in Tennessee
Focus on resort and tourism corridors
The Great Smoky Mountains area, including Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, has high concentrations of seasonal hospitality employers. Target lodges, amusement parks, and resorts in these corridors, as they file H-2B petitions annually for peak summer and winter seasons.
Time your search around seasonal filing windows
Most Tennessee H-2B employers file petitions months before their peak season starts. Research whether your target employer operates on a summer or winter peak cycle and begin outreach three to four months before that window opens.
Look beyond Nashville for employer density
While Nashville has hospitality employers, smaller markets like Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Chattanooga have dense clusters of seasonal businesses that rely heavily on H-2B workers and sponsor consistently year over year.
Use Migrate Mate to filter by visa type and state
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by H-2B sponsorship and location. Searching Tennessee directly surfaces employers who have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor, saving time over cold outreach to businesses without a sponsorship track record.
Target landscaping and groundskeeping employers
Tennessee's golf courses, country clubs, and large residential developments are steady H-2B sponsors in the landscaping category. Many file petitions each spring and have established relationships with immigration attorneys, making the sponsorship process relatively straightforward for qualified candidates.
Verify employer H-2B history before applying
Employers who have sponsored H-2B workers before are far more likely to do so again. Check the Department of Labor's public disclosure data to confirm whether a Tennessee employer has an active or recent H-2B Labor Condition Application before investing time in an application.

Which industries in Tennessee sponsor the most H-2B visas?
Hospitality and tourism lead H-2B visa sponsorship in Tennessee, driven by the state's resort towns and theme parks. Landscaping and groundskeeping is the second major category, particularly around golf courses and large commercial properties. Amusement and recreation businesses in the Smoky Mountains region also file consistently each season.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have the highest concentration of H-2B employers in Tennessee due to the volume of resorts, amusement parks, and seasonal attractions in the Great Smoky Mountains corridor. Nashville and Memphis also have sponsoring employers in hospitality and food service, though sponsorship density is higher in resort markets.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Tennessee?
H-2B sponsorship in Tennessee covers nonagricultural temporary roles including housekeeping, front desk and guest services, ride operators, food and beverage staff, groundskeepers, and landscaping crew members. These positions qualify when the employer can demonstrate a temporary or seasonal need that cannot be met by available U.S. workers.
How do I find H-2B jobs in Tennessee that offer sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international workers seeking visa sponsorship, including H-2B positions in Tennessee. You can filter by state and visa type to see employers actively sponsoring. Supplementing that with DOL public disclosure data helps you verify which Tennessee employers have a documented history of filing H-2B petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
