Which sports companies sponsor H-2B visas in Tennessee?
Tennessee sports employers that have pursued H-2B visa sponsorship include golf course operators, ski resort staffing companies, minor-league baseball organizations, and large event venue contractors. Grounds maintenance firms servicing stadiums and arenas, as well as recreational facility operators across the state, have filed H-2B Labor Condition Applications through DOL. Sponsorship patterns vary by season and operational need, so checking OFLC disclosure data gives the most accurate picture of which employers have filed recently.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most sports H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Nashville and Memphis lead H-2B sports hiring volume, driven by their major arenas, convention-linked event venues, and large stadium operations. Knoxville sees activity around its university sports facilities and surrounding recreation businesses. Smaller markets like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in the Smoky Mountains generate H-2B demand through golf courses and outdoor recreation operators, making that corridor a consistent source of seasonal sports sponsorship roles.
What types of sports roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B sponsorship in Tennessee's sports sector most commonly covers roles classified as temporary, non-agricultural labor tied to a defined season. Qualifying positions include grounds crew and turf maintenance workers at golf courses and stadiums, ski slope attendants, sporting event setup and breakdown crews, and seasonal recreation facility attendants. The role must be tied to a peak or one-time seasonal need, and the employer must demonstrate that U.S. workers are unavailable to fill those positions during that period.
How do I find sports H-2B sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search verified H-2B sponsorship jobs in Tennessee's sports sector. The platform surfaces employers with active H-2B filing history, so you can filter specifically for sports and recreation roles in Tennessee rather than manually sorting through OFLC disclosure files. Migrate Mate shows which companies have actually sponsored H-2B workers, giving you a practical starting point for targeting outreach to employers already familiar with the petition process.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-2B sports jobs in Tennessee?
Tennessee's sports H-2B market is shaped by its distinct seasonal peaks: golf course demand concentrates in spring and fall, while Smoky Mountain recreation peaks in summer and winter. Employers must demonstrate that their staffing need is genuinely temporary and tied to these cycles. Tennessee has no state-level H-2B registration requirement beyond federal DOL and USCIS obligations, but some local venue operators coordinate hiring through national staffing agencies that handle the H-2B petition process on their behalf.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B sports jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
