Which companies sponsor visas for project specialists in Tennessee?
Nashville-based HCA Healthcare and Vanderbilt University Medical Center regularly sponsor project specialists in healthcare operations and IT. Nissan's Smyrna manufacturing plant and Bridgestone Americas in Nashville hire project specialists in supply chain and process improvement. FedEx's Memphis headquarters sponsors for logistics and technology-focused project roles. These employers have established immigration programs and file H-1B visa petitions with reasonable consistency.
Which visa types are most common for project specialist roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project specialists in Tennessee, particularly for roles requiring a degree in business administration, information systems, engineering, or a closely related field. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific discipline. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering project roles.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most project specialist sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state by volume, driven by its healthcare, technology, and corporate headquarters concentration. Memphis is strong for logistics, supply chain, and operations project roles, anchored by FedEx and a dense distribution sector. Chattanooga has grown as a manufacturing and automotive technology hub. Knoxville offers project specialist opportunities tied to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee research corridor.
How to find project specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?

Focusing your search on Nashville, Memphis, and Chattanooga on Migrate Mate will return the highest concentration of relevant Tennessee opportunities.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for project specialists pursuing visa sponsorship?
Tennessee's lower cost of living relative to coastal metros can affect prevailing wage calculations under the H-1B Labor Condition Application, which employers file with the Department of Labor. Wages must meet the prevailing rate for the specific location and role. Candidates coming through Tennessee university programs, particularly Vanderbilt or the University of Tennessee, may find employers in those networks more familiar with sponsoring international project professionals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project specialist jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
