Which companies sponsor visas for radiologic technologists in Tennessee?
Vanderbilt University Medical Center, HCA Healthcare's Tennessee facilities, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, and Ballad Health are among the larger Tennessee employers with documented histories of sponsoring internationally trained radiologic technologists. Academic medical centers and large regional hospital networks tend to have dedicated international recruitment programs and the HR infrastructure to support H-1B or permanent residence sponsorship, making them the most practical targets for internationally trained rad techs.
Which visa types are most common for radiologic technologist roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa for radiologic technologists in Tennessee, provided the employer can demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree. Some employers also pursue EB-3 green card sponsorship for radiologic technologists, particularly when filling long-term staffing gaps. Candidates from Australia may be eligible for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most radiologic technologist sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is the primary hub, driven by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, HCA Healthcare's corporate presence, and a dense concentration of outpatient imaging centers. Memphis is the second-largest market, anchored by Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and Regional One Health. Knoxville and the Tri-Cities area (Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol) also offer meaningful volume through Covenant Health and Ballad Health's multi-hospital network.
How to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee. The platform filters specifically for roles where employers are open to sponsoring work visas, so you're not sorting through listings that won't consider international candidates. Searching for radiologic technologist roles filtered to Tennessee surfaces positions across Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, and smaller regional markets that actively recruit internationally trained imaging professionals.
What should internationally trained radiologic technologists know before applying for jobs in Tennessee?
Tennessee requires radiologic technologists to hold a valid state license through the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners, which typically requires ARRT certification. International applicants should verify their credentials are recognized by ARRT before pursuing sponsorship, as employers will expect this before initiating any visa petition. ARRT generally evaluates foreign-trained applicants on a case-by-case basis, and the credentialing timeline can affect when an employer is able to begin the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologic technologist jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
