Which companies sponsor visas for radiologic technologists in California?
Kaiser Permanente, Dignity Health, Sutter Health, UCLA Health, and Cedars-Sinai are among the larger California health systems with documented histories of sponsoring foreign national radiologic technologists. Staffing agencies that specialize in healthcare also file H-1B and EB-3 petitions for imaging professionals, particularly to fill persistent shortages at hospitals in underserved regions of the state.
Which visa types are most common for radiologic technologist roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for radiologic technologists, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specialized degree. The EB-3 immigrant visa is also frequently used, often through PERM labor certification, particularly for employers willing to support permanent residency. Some positions at nonprofit hospital systems may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filing.
Which cities in California have the most radiologic technologist sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles has the highest concentration of sponsored radiologic technologist roles, driven by its dense network of hospital systems, specialty clinics, and trauma centers. San Francisco and San Diego follow, with strong demand tied to academic medical centers and research hospitals. Sacramento also generates steady hiring volume through large regional health networks serving California's Central Valley.
How to find radiologic technologist visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state and role to surface California radiologic technologist positions where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability. This saves significant time compared to manually screening job listings, and Migrate Mate's data is focused on internationally qualified candidates who need work authorization support.
Are there state-specific licensing requirements that affect visa sponsorship for radiologic technologists in California?
Yes. California requires radiologic technologists to hold a state-issued fluoroscopy certificate and an appropriate certification from the California Department of Public Health, in addition to ARRT certification. Employers sponsoring foreign nationals must account for the time needed to obtain California licensure, which can affect start dates and the timing of visa petitions. Verifying your credentials are transferable before applying is advisable.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologic technologist jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
