Which companies sponsor visas for business intelligence roles in Texas?
Several large Texas-based employers have established sponsorship track records for business intelligence roles. Dell Technologies in Round Rock, AT&T and American Airlines in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, ExxonMobil and Chevron in Houston, and IBM across multiple Texas locations regularly file H-1B visa petitions for BI analysts and engineers. Large healthcare systems like HCA Healthcare and financial firms operating out of Dallas also appear frequently in Department of Labor disclosure data for BI-related positions.
Which visa types are most common for business intelligence roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for business intelligence professionals in Texas, as BI roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, statistics, or information systems. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT frequently transition to H-1B through Texas employers. Multinationals with Texas offices sometimes use L-1B visas for BI professionals transferring from overseas positions.
Which cities in Texas have the most business intelligence sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads the state for business intelligence sponsorship volume, driven by its dense concentration of corporate headquarters in finance, telecommunications, and aviation. Houston is the second-largest market, with strong demand from energy companies and large healthcare networks. Austin has grown significantly as a technology hub, with companies like Apple, Google, and Oracle maintaining offices there that hire BI talent. San Antonio has a smaller but active market, particularly in defense contracting and financial services.
How to find business intelligence visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international professionals searching for visa-sponsored roles and filters business intelligence jobs by state, including Texas. Rather than sorting through unverified postings, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with active sponsorship histories. For BI candidates, filtering by Texas and focusing on companies with documented H-1B filing patterns through Department of Labor data gives the clearest picture of where sponsorship is genuinely available rather than theoretical.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for business intelligence visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the Department of Labor sets H-1B wage levels based on local labor market data, not cost-of-living adjustments. Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston are classified as separate metropolitan areas with distinct prevailing wage determinations, so a BI role in each city carries different wage floor requirements. Texas universities including UT Austin and Texas A&M produce strong domestic BI talent, meaning international candidates often compete in a deep applicant pool.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business intelligence jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
