Which companies sponsor visas for clinical medical assistants in Texas?
Large hospital systems in Texas with documented sponsorship histories include HCA Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Houston Methodist, and Texas Health Resources. Federally Qualified Health Centers and multi-site outpatient groups also sponsor for clinical medical assistant roles in underserved areas. Sponsorship availability varies by location, facility size, and current staffing needs, so confirming directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for clinical medical assistant roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa requires a specialty occupation determination, which can be difficult to establish for clinical medical assistant roles unless the position requires a specific bachelor's degree. The H-2B visa and TN visas are generally not applicable. Some employers use the EB-3 immigrant visa pathway for skilled or unskilled healthcare support workers. Candidates already authorized to work in the U.S. on OPT, EAD, or TN visa status are more commonly considered for these roles.
How to find clinical medical assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter by state and role to find clinical medical assistant positions in Texas where employers have indicated openness to sponsorship. Using a platform focused on sponsored roles saves time compared to screening through general job listings, as clinical medical assistant positions with sponsorship in Texas are a smaller subset of total postings.
Which cities in Texas have the most clinical medical assistant sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth account for the highest concentration of clinical medical assistant openings in Texas, driven by the density of hospital systems, specialty clinics, and outpatient networks in both metro areas. San Antonio has significant demand through the South Texas Veterans Health Care System and large private health networks. Austin's growing population has expanded clinical hiring across primary care and urgent care settings over recent years.
What should international clinical medical assistants know about working in Texas?
Texas does not have a state income tax, which affects overall compensation comparisons with other states. Clinical medical assistants in Texas are not required to hold a state license, but national certifications such as the CMA from AAMA or the RMA from AMT are commonly expected by employers. Prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to sponsored roles, and employers must document that the offered position meets federal wage standards for the occupation and region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical medical assistant jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
