At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.
The Role
Are you a creative technologist who wants to bridge the gap between design vision and engineering execution, using experimentation to solve problems in new and novel ways? Then you’ll love working at Kyndryl Vital.
At Kyndryl Vital, we are looking for creative, curious, empathic systems thinkers who want to tackle wicked problems with some of the best technical colleagues in the world. Kyndryl Vital is a global network of designers, engineers, writers, researchers, and strategists. We are bound together by a desire to help our customers make sense of complexity and co-create intelligent and adaptive experience ecosystems that resonate with their users and transform their businesses. We believe the next evolution of experience will emerge from the artful blending of behavioral insight and business intelligence into elegantly simple, deeply human moments. We are fortunate to work with the world’s best IT experts to ensure that we can not only imagine a great experience, but that we can build it, deliver it, optimize it, and sustain it.
A Creative Technologist is a cross-disciplinary person that bridges between a design vision and engineering execution, using experimentation to solve problems in new and novel ways. They combine technical expertise with human-centered design to prototype and implement innovative solutions. Creative technologists blend expertise in code, hardware, and emerging technologies to bring ideas to life.
As a Creative Technologist at Kyndryl Vital, you will:
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape technical concepts aligned to human-centered design.
- Rapidly prototype interactive, testable experiences to drive alignment, learning, and value, including agentic AI-driven interactions.
- Apply emerging technologies to business challenges, including AI/ML/GenAI (including agentic AI), IoT, and immersive interfaces.
- Lead feasibility analysis and ethical review of technology choices, including agentic AI safety and governance considerations.
Your Future at Kyndryl
Every position at Kyndryl offers a way forward to grow your career. We have opportunities that you won’t find anywhere else, including hands-on experience, learning opportunities, and the chance to certify in all four major platforms. Whether you want to broaden your knowledge base or narrow your scope and specialize in a specific sector, you can find your opportunity here.
Kyndryl currently does not require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, if you are hired to work at a client, customer, or partner location, you may be required to show proof of vaccination to align with their respective COVID-19 vaccination policies. Those who believe they are eligible may apply for a medical or religious accommodation prior to the start of employment.
Who You Are
You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important, you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused, someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you’re open and borderless, naturally inclusive in how you work with others.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Human-Centered Design: You have a deep understanding of human-centered design methods and mindset.
- Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: You excel at uniting design and engineering.
- Innovation: You can apply new applications for emerging tech.
- Rapid Prototyping: You can create context-appropriate, low- to high-fidelity digital and physical prototypes.

- AI and Data Ethics: You leverage AI tools and data strategies with awareness of equity, bias, and transparency. This includes responsible agentic AI patterns (tool permissioning, human-in-the-loop controls, auditability).
- Tool Building for APIs (Agent Tools): You can define and prototype lightweight “agent tools” that expose capabilities via APIs (REST/GraphQL), including clear input/output schemas, error handling, and versioning so AI engineers can reliably wire tools into agent runtimes.
- Front-End Engineering for Agentic Experiences: You can build modern web interfaces (e.g., React/TypeScript) that integrate with agentic systems—supporting streaming responses, conversation + workflow state, and human-in-the-loop actions (approve/deny/escalate) with traceable outcomes.
- Agent Evaluation & Quality: You can define basic evaluation criteria for agent behavior (accuracy, reliability, safety, latency, and user trust), and iterate using test prompts, structured cases, and lightweight metrics.

- Phygital / Immersive Design
- IoT / Connected Product Design
- Mobile and Web Front-End Engineering

Which companies sponsor visas for creative professionals in Texas?
Large technology and media companies are among the most consistent sponsors for creative roles in Texas. Apple and Amazon have significant Austin presences and file LCAs for UX designers, content strategists, and creative directors. In Dallas, advertising agencies and consulting firms like Deloitte Digital sponsor creative talent. Houston's architecture and engineering firms, including Gensler, also sponsor international designers regularly.
Which visa types are most common for creative roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for creative professionals in Texas, covering specialty occupation roles like UX design, graphic design, art direction, and creative strategy where a relevant bachelor's degree is required. The O-1B is an alternative for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement in the arts. Some creative roles at multinational companies may also qualify for the L-1 visa intracompany transfer visa.
Which cities in Texas have the most creative visa sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for creative sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of tech companies, gaming studios, and media startups. Dallas-Fort Worth is strong for advertising, brand design, and marketing creative roles, with a dense cluster of agency and corporate headquarters. Houston has demand in architectural design, industrial design, and energy sector communications. San Antonio has a smaller but growing creative market tied to tourism and healthcare.
How to find creative visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters creative roles in Texas by visa sponsorship history, so you can focus on employers who have actually sponsored visas rather than guessing. You can filter by city, creative discipline, and visa type. Because Texas has active hiring across Austin, Dallas, and Houston, the creative sponsorship job listings on Migrate Mate cover a range of roles from UX and visual design to content and creative strategy.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for creative visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and how employers structure compensation for sponsored roles. Austin's competitive tech hiring market means creative roles there often sit within larger product or marketing organizations, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument for H-1B eligibility. Texas also has several strong university pipelines, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, that feed local employers with international OPT candidates who later seek sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored creative jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
