Search Events Jobs in TexasEvents Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for events professionals in Texas?
Large venue operators and event production companies are the most active sponsors. ASM Global manages major Texas venues including the Toyota Center in Houston and Moody Center in Austin. Live Nation has a significant Texas presence across concert venues. Corporate event agencies headquartered in Dallas, such as BCD Meetings and Events, have also filed H-1B petitions for events roles requiring specialized qualifications.
Which visa types are most common for events roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for events roles that qualify as specialty occupations, typically positions requiring a degree in event management, hospitality, or a related field. The O-1B can apply to performers or creatives working in live production. For events roles with significant project management or technical components, employers sometimes pursue H-1B classification by documenting the degree requirement embedded in the role.
Which cities in Texas have the most events visa sponsorship jobs?
Dallas leads in corporate event sponsorship activity, given its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large convention infrastructure at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Houston follows closely, driven by the energy sector's demand for large-scale corporate events. Austin has grown considerably as a tech and entertainment hub, with events surrounding SXSW and a growing number of year-round production companies actively hiring.
How to find events visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, letting you search events roles in Texas without manually screening out employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city and role type, which is useful given how spread out Texas hiring is across Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Migrate Mate is built for international job seekers, so every listing shown is from an employer open to sponsorship.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for events visa sponsorship roles?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The state's size also means events roles can vary significantly by market: corporate event management in Dallas differs from festival production in Austin. Candidates from hospitality programs at universities like the University of Houston or Texas A&M may find regional employer familiarity with international graduate hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored events jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
