Which companies in Tennessee sponsor visas for events professionals?
Hospitality and entertainment companies lead sponsorship activity for events roles in Tennessee. Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Marriott-affiliated properties, and large event production firms like Freeman have filed H-1B petitions for events-related positions. Convention and visitors bureaus, university event departments, and major music industry companies in Nashville also appear in DOL disclosure data as sponsors for qualifying roles.
Which visa types are most common for events roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most commonly sponsored visa for events professionals in Tennessee, typically covering roles like event manager, marketing coordinator, or production specialist that require a relevant bachelor's degree. The O-1A or O-1B is an option for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement in entertainment and live events. TN visa status under USMCA is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in specific eligible occupations only.
How to find events visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse events roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can search by city, filtering for Nashville, Memphis, or Knoxville depending on where events industry activity is strongest for your specialty. Migrate Mate is built for international job seekers navigating the U.S. sponsorship process.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most events visa sponsorship jobs?
Nashville concentrates the largest share of events sponsorship opportunities in Tennessee, driven by its convention center, major hotel groups, and a dense music and entertainment industry. Memphis supports a secondary market with corporate events tied to its logistics and healthcare sectors. Knoxville has a smaller but growing conference and university events scene, with the University of Tennessee occasionally sponsoring events-adjacent roles.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for international events professionals?
Tennessee does not have a state-level visa sponsorship program, so all sponsorship depends on individual employers meeting federal H-1B or other visa requirements. Events roles must qualify as specialty occupations, meaning the position must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Nashville's strong hospitality and entertainment industry creates more sponsorship-eligible roles than most other Tennessee markets, particularly in event management and production coordination.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored events jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
