Which companies sponsor visas for physical therapists in Texas?
Large health systems with significant Texas footprints, including HCA Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White Health, Texas Health Resources, and CHRISTUS Health, have histories of sponsoring physical therapists. Outpatient clinic networks, long-term care facilities, and rehabilitation hospital chains also sponsor PT roles. Sponsorship availability varies by facility, census levels, and hiring cycles, so confirming sponsorship willingness directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for physical therapist roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for physical therapists in Texas, as PT qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Many employers also use the EB-3 immigrant visa pathway for internationally recruited PTs. Some facilities work with staffing agencies familiar with VisaScreen certification requirements, which is mandatory for healthcare workers in clinical roles regardless of visa category.
Which cities in Texas have the most physical therapist sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth account for the largest share of sponsored PT positions in Texas, driven by the density of major hospital systems, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient networks in both metros. San Antonio has strong demand tied to its military medical infrastructure and growing hospital sector. Austin's expanding population has increased PT hiring at newer health facilities throughout the metro.
How to find pt visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter directly for physical therapist positions in Texas to see employers actively open to sponsorship. Because PT roles often require VisaScreen certification and state licensure from the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners before a visa petition proceeds, reviewing those requirements alongside your job search is worthwhile.
Are there state-specific considerations for physical therapists seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas requires physical therapists to hold an active license from the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners before practicing, and many employers require licensure prior to or alongside visa sponsorship. Internationally trained PTs also need VisaScreen certification, which verifies educational credentials and English proficiency for healthcare visa applicants. Texas's large rural healthcare shortage areas can expand employer options, as some facilities in underserved regions have additional incentives to recruit internationally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored pt jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
