Which companies sponsor visas for service advisors in Texas?
Large dealership groups operating in Texas, including AutoNation, Hendrick Automotive Group, and Sonic Automotive, have the HR infrastructure to file sponsorship petitions. Franchise dealerships affiliated with Toyota, Ford, and BMW in Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth are among the more active hirers. Sponsorship is not guaranteed at any employer, and availability varies by location, role, and business need at the time of hiring.
Which visa types are most common for service advisor roles in Texas?
H-1B visa sponsorship for service advisors is uncommon because the role typically does not require a specific bachelor's degree, which is a core requirement for H-1B specialty occupation classification. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying professional categories, though service advisor is not a listed TN occupation. Candidates with existing work authorization, such as OPT or an EAD, are generally better positioned to secure these roles while seeking long-term sponsorship.
Which cities in Texas have the most service advisor sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in volume given its size and the concentration of auto dealerships serving one of the most vehicle-dense metro areas in the country. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with a high number of franchise dealerships across Plano, Irving, and Fort Worth. San Antonio and Austin also have active hiring markets, particularly as both cities have seen significant population growth driving dealership expansion over the past several years.
How to find service advisor visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter by state and role to find service advisor positions in Texas where employers have indicated sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces employer sponsorship history and filters out postings unlikely to support work authorization, which saves time compared to sorting through general job listings that rarely flag sponsorship clearly.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for service advisors seeking sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects take-home pay calculations relevant to prevailing wage assessments under sponsored visa petitions. The state's large and growing population means dealership demand is consistent, but competition for sponsored roles is high. Service advisors with manufacturer certifications, such as Toyota T-TEN or Ford ASSET credentials, are more competitive because those credentials signal employer-verified technical competency, which can strengthen a sponsorship case.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored service advisor jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
