Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot trailer electrical systems
- Install and repair lighting systems, including wiring and brackets
- Replace and wire breakaway kits and junction boxes
- Install tarp kits, wireless remote systems, vents, E-tracks, and spare tire mounts
- Replace steel decking, plywood, and install rubber flooring
- Weld and replace trailer jacks
- Fabricate and weld components including D-rings, toolboxes, hinges, safety chains, fenders, winch plates, and more
- Install A-frame toolboxes and couplers
- Inspect, service, and replace suspension systems
- Replace air ride valves, air compressors, axles, brakes, drums, magnets, seals, and bearings
- Perform bearing repacks and axle oil changes
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic issues
- Replace hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, and hoses
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience in trailer repair, fabrication, or a related mechanical trade
- Proficiency in MIG welding and fabrication techniques
- Strong diagnostic skills in electrical and hydraulic systems
- Working knowledge of suspension, brake, and axle systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe shop practices
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions (standing, kneeling, bending, etc.)
- Welding certification (preferred but not required)
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift operation experience
Work Environment:
Primarily shop-based with occasional outdoor work. Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and environments.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (as needed)
