Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for creative roles?
Adobe's Lehi campus is one of the most active sponsors for UX and product design roles in Utah. Ancestry, Qualtrics, and Domo have also filed Labor Condition Applications for creative and design positions. Smaller game development studios in the Salt Lake City area, along with digital marketing agencies serving the tech corridor, regularly hire internationally for motion design, brand, and creative strategy roles.
Which visa types are most common for creative professionals in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for creative roles that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as graphic design, UX, or animation. The O-1A and O-1B visas are relevant for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement in the arts. Some creatives in film or media production may qualify under the O-1B specifically. Each category has distinct eligibility requirements and employer obligations.
How to find creative visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it more efficient than searching general job boards for creative roles in Utah. You can filter by role type, including design, animation, content, and UX, and see which Utah employers are actively hiring foreign nationals. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on positions where sponsorship has been confirmed or is likely, saving significant research time.
Which cities in Utah have the most creative visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City has the highest concentration of creative sponsorship opportunities, particularly in UX, product design, and digital marketing tied to its large tech employer base. Provo and the broader Utah County tech corridor, often called the Silicon Slopes, is home to companies like Qualtrics and Ancestry that hire creative professionals. Ogden and St. George have smaller but emerging creative scenes with fewer sponsorship roles.
Are there state-specific factors that affect creative visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's film incentive program draws production companies to the state, which can create short-term demand for creative professionals, though production roles are often project-based and may not align with H-1B requirements for full-time specialty occupation employment. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University produce design and animation graduates, creating a competitive local talent pool that employers weigh against sponsorship costs when making international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored creative jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
