Position Overview:
The YMCA is seeking a creative, mission-driven Marketing Associate with skills in graphic design, photography, and content creation. This role plays a key part in telling the YMCA story capturing meaningful moments, promoting programs, and engaging our community through compelling visual and digital content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging graphics for print and digital use (flyers, program guides, social media, email campaigns, signage)
- Capture and edit photography for programs, events, and community initiatives
- Create and manage content for social media platforms that reflects the YMCA’s mission and values
- Assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns to promote memberships, programs, and events
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all materials
- Collaborate with program directors and staff to highlight success stories and member experiences
- Help manage content calendars and schedule posts across platforms
- Monitor engagement and performance metrics to improve outreach efforts
- Ensure all content is inclusive, family-friendly, and community-focused
- Participate in Association Events
- Actively participating in Marketing needs, example going out into the community to help support our branches, events and programs.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in graphic design, photography, or content creation
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva) or similar tools
- Experience with photography and photo editing
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for community engagement and alignment with the YMCA mission
Preferred Skills:
- Basic video creation and editing skills
- Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization
- Knowledge of social media analytics tools
- Basic copywriting and storytelling abilities
