Which manufacturing companies sponsor Green Card visas in Utah?
Utah manufacturers with documented Green Card sponsorship histories include Northrop Grumman (aerospace and defense components in Promontory and Ogden), Autoliv (automotive safety systems in Ogden), Merit Medical Systems (medical devices in South Jordan), and IM Flash Technologies (semiconductors in Lehi). These employers have filed PERM labor certifications through the Department of Labor, which is the first step in the most common employment-based Green Card pathway.
Which cities in Utah have the most manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs?
The Salt Lake City metro area, including South Jordan, Sandy, and Murray, concentrates the highest volume of manufacturing sponsorship activity, particularly in medical devices and electronics. Ogden anchors aerospace and automotive manufacturing in the north. The Provo-Orem and Lehi corridor, sometimes called Silicon Slopes, supports semiconductor and advanced electronics manufacturing. Cache Valley around Logan also has niche food processing and industrial equipment employers.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles most commonly sponsored through employment-based Green Card categories in manufacturing include process engineers, quality assurance engineers, manufacturing engineers, supply chain managers, CNC programmers, materials scientists, and production supervisors with specialized expertise. EB-2 and EB-3 categories cover the majority of manufacturing sponsorships. Highly specialized or advanced-degree roles may qualify for EB-2, while skilled worker positions in EB-3 typically require at least two years of training or experience.
How do I find manufacturing Green Card sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for this search. You can filter by visa type (Green Card), industry (manufacturing), and state (Utah) to surface roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because many Utah manufacturers sponsor quietly without advertising it prominently, using a platform focused on sponsorship visibility, like Migrate Mate, saves significant time compared to manually screening general job listings.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for manufacturing Green Card sponsorship?
Utah's manufacturing sector skews heavily toward defense, aerospace, and medical devices, all of which involve federal contracting. Employers in these industries may require security clearances for certain roles, and non-citizen applicants face eligibility restrictions for classified work, which can narrow which positions are open to Green Card candidates. Additionally, Utah's strong employment growth means prevailing wage determinations in the Salt Lake metro are regularly updated, affecting PERM filing timelines and employer cost calculations.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card manufacturing jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
