Tips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Utah
Focus on Silicon Slopes employers first
The tech cluster stretching from Salt Lake City through Lehi and Provo contains hundreds of software and SaaS companies that routinely file PERM labor certifications. Targeting established employers in this corridor improves your chances of finding structured Green Card sponsorship programs.
Search DOL PERM disclosure data for Utah sponsors
The Department of Labor publishes quarterly PERM case disclosure files. Filter by Utah employer name to identify companies that have sponsored Green Cards recently, confirming they understand the process before you invest time applying.
Prioritize roles with degree requirements in specific fields
Green Card sponsorship through PERM requires employers to demonstrate a specific educational requirement for the role. Positions in engineering, software development, data science, and healthcare are most likely to meet this standard with Utah-based employers.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-confirmed Utah jobs
Migrate Mate's job board lets you filter specifically for Green Card sponsorship roles in Utah, saving time you'd otherwise spend researching each employer individually. Browsing by industry or city helps you identify active sponsors quickly.
Target mid-to-large employers in life sciences and finance
Companies like biotech firms in Salt Lake City and financial services employers along the Wasatch Front have dedicated HR infrastructure for immigration. Smaller startups may intend to sponsor but lack the experience to navigate the multi-year PERM process.
Account for the full PERM timeline when evaluating offers
The PERM process alone takes six months to over a year before an I-140 petition is even filed. Engage employers early about their immigration history and whether they have outside counsel, so you understand the realistic timeline before accepting.

Which industries in Utah sponsor the most Green Card visas?
Technology and software development lead Green Card sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by the Silicon Slopes corridor. Life sciences and medical devices, financial services, civil and electrical engineering, and higher education are also consistent sponsors. Companies in these sectors file PERM labor certifications regularly and tend to have established immigration processes in place.
Which cities in Utah have the most Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City has the highest concentration of Green Card sponsorship employers, particularly in finance, healthcare, and professional services. Lehi and Provo form the Silicon Slopes tech hub and are home to numerous software companies that sponsor permanent residency. Ogden contributes through defense contracting and manufacturing, and St. George is a smaller but growing market.
What types of roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Utah?
Roles that qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Utah generally require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job duties. Software engineers, data scientists, biomedical engineers, financial analysts, civil engineers, and research scientists are among the most frequently sponsored occupations. Positions where any general degree qualifies are harder to sponsor through the PERM process.
How do I find Green Card sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Green Card sponsorship jobs in Utah, filtered by industry, city, and role type, so you are not guessing which employers will sponsor. You can also cross-reference DOL PERM disclosure data to verify which Utah companies have an active sponsorship track record before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
