Which medical devices companies sponsor Green Card visas in Utah?
Merit Medical Systems, headquartered in South Jordan, is one of Utah's largest medical devices employers and has a history of sponsoring Green Cards for skilled foreign nationals. BD (Becton Dickinson), Natus Medical, and various contract manufacturers along the Wasatch Front have also filed Green Card petitions. Sponsorship availability depends on the role, the employer's immigration policy, and current business needs.
Which cities in Utah have the most medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its suburbs, particularly South Jordan and Sandy, concentrate the highest number of medical devices employers in the state. Ogden and Provo also have a meaningful presence, with manufacturers and R&D operations operating along the I-15 corridor. Most Green Card sponsorship activity follows this same geographic pattern, as it tracks where the largest employers and most specialized roles are located.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field are most commonly sponsored. This includes regulatory affairs specialists, quality engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers focused on device design, software engineers building embedded or connected medical systems, and clinical or R&D scientists. Positions where a specialized degree is a genuine requirement, rather than a preference, are generally the strongest candidates for employer-sponsored Green Card petitions.
How do I find medical devices Green Card sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters medical devices jobs in Utah that include Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can search directly for roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. This is particularly useful in Utah's medical devices sector, where sponsorship availability varies significantly from one company to the next even within the same city or product category.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in the medical devices industry?
Utah's medical devices industry is heavily concentrated around the Wasatch Front, which means most sponsoring employers are mid-size manufacturers rather than large multinationals. These companies sometimes have less established immigration infrastructure than major corporations, so it's worth confirming early in the hiring process whether a company has previously filed Green Card petitions. Roles tied to FDA-regulated product development or manufacturing tend to have clearer sponsorship precedents within this segment of the industry.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card medical devices jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
