Which manufacturing companies in Utah sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Utah manufacturers with histories of sponsoring specialty occupation workers include Autoliv (automotive safety systems in Ogden), Moog Inc. (precision motion control in Salt Lake City), and medical device firms concentrated in the Wasatch Front corridor. Aerospace and defense contractors tied to Hill Air Force Base also participate. Sponsorship patterns vary by year, so reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data gives the most accurate picture of which employers have filed recently.
Which cities in Utah have the most manufacturing H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its suburbs, including Murray and Sandy, host the highest concentration of advanced manufacturing employers. Ogden is a strong secondary market, particularly for automotive components and aerospace suppliers linked to Hill Air Force Base. Provo and the Utah County corridor have grown significantly in medical device and semiconductor manufacturing, making them active markets for specialty occupation sponsorship roles.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Utah?
Roles that commonly qualify include manufacturing engineers, process engineers, quality assurance engineers, materials scientists, and industrial automation specialists. The position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related technical field to meet the specialty occupation standard. Generic production supervisor or line operator roles typically do not qualify. Utah's concentration in medical devices, aerospace components, and electronics manufacturing means roles in those subsectors appear most frequently in H-1B1 Chile filings.
How do I find manufacturing H-1B1 Chile sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters manufacturing jobs specifically by H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history in Utah, showing which employers have filed Labor Condition Applications for relevant roles in the state. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that have never sponsored the visa type. You can sort by city, job function, and employer filing history to focus your search on manufacturing employers in Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo who have demonstrated willingness to sponsor Chilean nationals.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile manufacturing sponsorship?
Utah's manufacturing sector includes a notable share of defense contractors that require security clearances, which Chilean nationals on H-1B1 visa status may face additional hurdles obtaining. Employers in medical device manufacturing must also meet FDA-regulated quality standards, which can shape the degree and experience requirements they specify in their LCA filings. Utah has no state-level visa sponsorship laws, so federal H-1B1 prevailing wage rules under DOL govern compensation requirements. Verifying wage levels through the OFLC Wage Search before applying helps confirm whether an offer is compliant.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile manufacturing jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
