Which companies sponsor visas for manufacturing operations managers in Utah?
Utah manufacturers with documented H-1B and other work visa sponsorship activity include Merit Medical Systems, Hexcel Corporation, Autoliv, and Orbital ATK (now Northrop Grumman). Larger facilities in the medical device and aerospace sectors tend to have dedicated HR teams experienced with visa processes. Sponsorship activity is publicly searchable through the Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure database, which lists certified Labor Condition Applications by employer and job title.
Which visa types are most common for manufacturing operations manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for manufacturing operations managers when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, operations management, industrial engineering, or a closely related field. The L-1A is another option for candidates transferring from an overseas office of the same employer into a managerial position. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles fall within qualifying USMCA occupational categories, such as industrial engineer.
Which cities in Utah have the most manufacturing operations manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its surrounding metro area, including West Valley City and Murray, host the largest concentration of Utah manufacturing employers and corresponding operations management roles. Ogden is a secondary hub, particularly for aerospace and defense manufacturing tied to Hill Air Force Base contractors. Provo and the broader Utah Valley region also have a growing presence in medical device and technology-adjacent manufacturing, where operations management positions with sponsorship potential appear regularly.
How to find manufacturing operations manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to identify Utah manufacturing operations manager roles where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job postings manually, you can search Migrate Mate for this specific role and state combination to surface opportunities from Utah manufacturers in sectors like medical devices, aerospace, and industrial equipment.
Are there state-specific considerations for manufacturing operations managers seeking sponsorship in Utah?
Utah's manufacturing sector has ties to several universities, including the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, which produce engineering and supply chain graduates who sometimes transition into operations management roles. Employers in defense-adjacent manufacturing may require security clearances, which can affect sponsorship timelines and eligibility for international candidates. The state's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are determined by the Department of Labor and vary by county and role level, so candidates should review current DOL wage data for the specific metro area.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored manufacturing operations manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
