Responsibilities:
- Master Tolerance Analysis - Conduct sophisticated assembly and component tolerance analyses
- Drive Measurement Innovation - Lead the development of cutting-edge measurement systems utilizing advanced CAD, contact/non-contact metrology tools, and CT scanning technology
- Build Cross-Functional Partnerships - Collaborate with R&D, Device Molding, Quality, Manufacturing teams, and external vendors.
- Champion Quality Initiatives - Provide comprehensive metrology support including specialized measurements, MSD/MSA, custom fixture design, GR&R studies, and data analysis for product qualification and validation for both new products, processes, assemblies, changes and transfers.
- Lead Technical Projects - Spearhead specialized initiatives across R&D, GIE, molding, and other engineering disciplines
- Orchestrate Project Communication - Coordinate and communicate project status, milestones, and outcomes with stakeholders across departments
- Define Measurement Excellence - Specify state-of-the-art metrology equipment, fixtures, and procedures that meet rigorous accuracy and repeatability requirements
- Manage Resources Strategically - Develop capital expenditure requests and manage budgets for metrology projects with financial acumen
- Implement New Technologies - Install and integrate cutting-edge metrology equipment to support product development and manufacturing processes
- Create Quality Documentation - Develop and approve comprehensive work instructions, change notices, and specifications
- Mentor Future Talent - Train and guide less experienced team members
- Scale Production Solutions - Develop and implement robust metrology processes for pilot production and manufacturing scale-up
- Lead Key Initiatives - Take ownership of critical projects that drive business success
- Stay at the Cutting Edge - Maintain expertise in your field through professional development, industry conferences, and scientific literature
- Uphold Safety Standards - Comply with all safety regulations including RCRA Hazardous Waste protocols
- Champion Quality Excellence - Consistently apply quality assurance principles in alignment with BD policies and procedures
Minimum Requirement:
- B.S. Degree in an engineering field OR
- A.S. Degree in an engineering field plus 4 years of related metrology engineering experience OR
- High school diploma/GED with 8 years of focused metrology development experience
