Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for operations specialists?
Employers with a track record of sponsoring operations specialist roles in Utah include Adobe, Qualtrics, Goldman Sachs, Domo, and large healthcare systems like Intermountain Health. Defense contractors and logistics firms in the Salt Lake Valley also sponsor regularly. Sponsorship activity varies by year and role, so checking recent H-1B disclosure data from the Department of Labor gives the most accurate picture of which employers are actively filing.
What visa types are most common for operations specialist roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations specialist positions in Utah, particularly for roles requiring a degree in business, industrial engineering, supply chain, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA/USMCA management consultant or engineer categories depending on the role's specific duties. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa if the position meets specialty occupation standards.
How to find operations specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse operations specialist roles in Utah without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform aggregates openings across Salt Lake City, Provo, and Ogden from employers who have confirmed sponsorship capacity. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually checking each company's immigration history.
Which cities in Utah have the most operations specialist sponsorship opportunities?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of sponsored operations specialist roles in Utah, driven by its concentration of tech firms, financial services companies, and healthcare systems. Provo and the broader Utah County tech corridor, sometimes called Silicon Slopes, is a secondary hub with strong demand from SaaS and data companies. Ogden sees sponsorship activity tied to manufacturing, logistics, and defense-related operations work.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for operations specialists seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements follow Department of Labor standards, so employers must certify they're paying the wage level appropriate to the role's complexity and location when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application. Utah's Silicon Slopes ecosystem has created a pipeline of internationally educated operations and business analytics professionals from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, which means competition for sponsored roles in the region can be meaningful. Roles tied to federal contracts may carry additional compliance requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations specialist jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
