Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for purchasing managers?
Larger Utah employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories include Intermountain Health, Rio Tinto (Kennecott), Northrop Grumman, and technology companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor around Lehi and South Jordan. Manufacturing firms in the Ogden and Provo areas also sponsor purchasing roles, particularly when candidates bring specialized supply chain expertise that is difficult to source domestically.
Which visa types are most common for purchasing manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for purchasing manager sponsorship in Utah, provided the role is structured as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field. Candidates with advanced credentials may also qualify under the O-1 visa or EB-1 categories. Some multinational companies in Utah, such as those with global operations, sponsor L-1 visa transfers for purchasing managers moving from an overseas affiliate.
Which cities in Utah have the most purchasing manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of purchasing manager sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its healthcare, mining, and corporate headquarters concentration. The Silicon Slopes region spanning Lehi, Draper, and South Jordan adds technology sector procurement roles. Ogden sees demand from aerospace and defense suppliers, while Provo benefits from its proximity to Brigham Young University and a growing manufacturing base.
How to find purchasing manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse purchasing manager openings in Utah without sorting through roles that won't consider international candidates. Searching by Utah on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, which is especially useful given the variation in sponsorship capacity between Utah's large healthcare and defense employers versus smaller manufacturers.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for purchasing managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B purchasing managers are determined by the Department of Labor using Salt Lake City or the relevant metro area as the wage benchmark, so candidates should expect compensation aligned with those standards. Utah's strong university pipeline through the University of Utah and Brigham Young University means employers often have existing international hiring experience, which can make the sponsorship conversation more familiar for local procurement teams.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored purchasing manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
