Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Adobe, Qualtrics, Ancestry, and Pluralsight are among the established Utah tech employers that have sponsored visas for software engineering managers. Silicon Slopes-based startups and mid-stage companies also sponsor periodically, particularly when hiring senior technical leaders with specialized backgrounds. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case, so verifying each employer's history through public LCA disclosure data is worth doing.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa for software engineering managers in Utah, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. L-1A visas apply when a manager transfers from a foreign affiliated office. Senior candidates with exceptional records may also explore the O-1A. Each category has distinct eligibility requirements.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find software engineering manager roles in Utah where employers are open to visa sponsorship. You can filter specifically by state and role, which saves significant time compared to sifting through general job listings. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated upfront, Migrate Mate's curated listings help surface employers who have an established track record of sponsoring international candidates in technical leadership positions.
Which cities in Utah have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and Lehi account for the large majority of software engineering manager openings in Utah. Lehi sits at the heart of Silicon Slopes, a concentrated tech corridor where dozens of mid-size and enterprise software companies are headquartered. Provo and Draper also have meaningful hiring activity, often tied to BYU's computer science pipeline and the cluster of SaaS companies that have expanded into those suburbs.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software engineering managers in Utah?
Utah's tech sector skews toward SaaS and enterprise software, which means most sponsoring employers are established enough to navigate the H-1B process and meet prevailing wage obligations. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wage levels for software engineering manager roles by metro area, and Salt Lake City's wages reflect a competitive but sub-coastal market. Utah has no state-level immigration requirements that differ from federal standards.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
