Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Indianapolis-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for software engineering roles include Salesforce, Eli Lilly, Cummins, Anthem (now Elevance Health), and OneAmerica. Larger employers in the financial services, healthcare technology, and manufacturing sectors tend to have established immigration infrastructure that supports sponsorship at the management level, where visa petitions are less speculative than entry-level hires.
What visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in Indiana, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer may also pursue this path if relocating from a foreign affiliate. O-1 visas are an option for candidates with documented extraordinary ability in software or engineering leadership.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify Indiana employers actively hiring software engineering managers who need work authorization. Rather than sorting through postings that don't address sponsorship, you can search directly for software engineering manager roles in Indiana on Migrate Mate and focus your applications on employers with a track record of sponsoring international candidates.
Which Indiana cities have the most software engineering manager sponsorship opportunities?
Indianapolis accounts for the large majority of software engineering manager positions in Indiana, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters in healthcare technology, finance, and enterprise software. Bloomington sees some activity tied to Indiana University's technology programs and affiliated startups. Fort Wayne and Carmel have smaller but growing tech employer bases worth monitoring if you're open to positions outside the Indianapolis metro.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for software engineering manager visa sponsorship?
Indiana employers sponsoring H-1B petitions for software engineering managers must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the Indianapolis or relevant metro area, as determined by Department of Labor data. Indiana's university system, particularly Purdue and Indiana University, produces a significant pipeline of international graduate students in computer science, which means some Indiana employers have existing immigration processes in place for technical leadership hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
