Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Several large employers in Texas have established records of sponsoring software engineering managers for work visas. Dell Technologies and Texas Instruments in Austin and Dallas, Oracle's Austin campus, Amazon Web Services, and AT&T are among the most active. Enterprise software firms, defense contractors like Lockheed Martin, and a growing number of fintech companies in Dallas-Fort Worth also regularly sponsor engineering leadership roles.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for software engineering managers in Texas, as the role typically requires a specialized degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field and qualifies as a specialty occupation. Candidates with extraordinary ability may pursue the O-1A. Intracompany transfers to Texas offices of multinational companies can also use the L-1A, which is specifically designed for managerial roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for software engineering manager sponsorship jobs, anchored by a dense concentration of tech companies and major employer campuses. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, particularly in enterprise software, fintech, and telecommunications. Houston has a smaller but growing tech sector, with engineering leadership demand tied to energy technology and healthcare IT companies headquartered there.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles, including software engineering manager positions in Texas. You can filter by state and role to surface employers who have sponsored similar positions before. Because engineering manager roles require demonstrated sponsorship willingness from the employer, focusing your search on verified sponsoring companies through Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to applying broadly.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for software engineering manager visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons under Department of Labor requirements for H-1B filings. Employers must still meet federal prevailing wage standards for the role and location. Austin and Dallas sit in different wage zones, so the certified wage on a Labor Condition Application will differ between cities. University pipelines from UT Austin and Texas A&M also feed engineering talent into companies with active sponsorship programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
