Which companies sponsor visas for software engineering managers in New Jersey?
Several large employers in New Jersey have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for software engineering manager roles. These include Cognizant, Conduent, Prudential Financial, Johnson and Johnson, Merck, and various financial technology firms headquartered in Jersey City. Consulting firms with major New Jersey offices, including Deloitte and Infosys, also regularly sponsor engineering leadership positions. Sponsorship patterns are publicly verifiable through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in New Jersey, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. L-1A visas are also relevant for managers transferring from an overseas office of the same employer. Candidates already authorized under OPT or STEM OPT may also be in active consideration.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark lead in software engineering manager sponsorship activity, largely due to their proximity to New York City's financial sector and the concentration of fintech and enterprise technology firms there. Princeton and the surrounding Route 1 corridor are significant as well, driven by pharmaceutical and biotech companies with large technology divisions. Parsippany and Florham Park also have notable presences from major consulting and insurance technology employers.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, which makes it more targeted than general job searches for software engineering manager roles in New Jersey. You can browse openings from employers with verified sponsorship histories, covering positions in Jersey City, Princeton, Newark, and across the state's technology and financial services sectors. This saves time you would otherwise spend cross-referencing individual company sponsorship policies.
What should international candidates know about software engineering manager roles and visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
Software engineering manager positions in New Jersey typically require demonstrated experience leading engineering teams, not just individual contributor work, which affects how employers document the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B petitions. New Jersey's strong presence in financial services and pharmaceuticals means many sponsoring employers have established immigration legal teams familiar with the process. Prevailing wage levels for managerial roles in the region are set by the Department of Labor and vary by county and experience level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
