About the Role:
As an AI-forward Full Stack Product Manager at Crunchbase, you will accelerate how we apply AI, automation, and connected systems across the company. This role sits within the Product organization and focuses on building and evolving internal AI-powered applications that increase operational velocity, reduce manual work, and improve how teams execute. You will identify friction across workflows, redesign brittle processes, and ship practical solutions that meaningfully improve how work gets done. This is not a strategy-only role. You will operate as a builder. You will rapidly design, prototype, and launch internal AI-driven tools. You will not “own” every system, but you will modernize, connect, and evolve them so they work better together and materially reduce operational drag. This role is about applied AI, system-level thinking, and execution at speed.
- Identify and Eliminate Operational Friction:
+ Identify manual, repetitive, or brittle workflows across the organization
+ Redesign processes using AI, automation, and system-level improvements
+ Reduce low-leverage work to create space for higher-value thinking
+ Improve interoperability, reliability, and observability across internal systems
- Build and Ship Internal AI Applications:
- Rapidly design, prototype, and launch AI-driven internal applications
- Turn rough ideas into working solutions that can be tested and validated quickly
- Use lightweight, iterative development approaches to accelerate time-to-value
-
Continuously refine and improve tools based on real-world usage and feedback
-
Drive Practical AI Adoption:
- Push the organization toward applied, usable AI — not experimentation for its own sake
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies for pragmatic internal use cases
- Help teams rethink how work gets done in an AI-enabled operating model
-
Ensure AI implementations drive measurable efficiency, speed, or quality improvements
-
Partner Across the Business:
- Work directly with business leaders to understand operational pain points
- Translate ambiguous needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Operate comfortably across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Align solutions with company-wide goals and measurable outcomes
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, or a related technical builder role
- Experience building or implementing AI-powered applications, automation workflows, or internal systems
- Demonstrated experience operating at the intersection of business and engineering
- Track record of rapidly prototyping and launching practical solutions that improve operational efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
- Strong technical foundation in AI, internal systems, automation, and modern tooling
- Ability to design, prototype, and ship working AI-driven solutions independently
- Systems thinker who understands both technical architecture and human workflow design
- Comfortable navigating and improving existing tools without rigid definitions or guardrails
- Builder mindset — prototypes quickly, iterates frequently, and ships practical solutions
- Operates effectively in ambiguity and proactively identifies inefficiencies others overlook
- Action-oriented with a strong bias toward execution and measurable outcomes
- Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured product and technical solutions
- Comfortable working across Product, Engineering, and business functions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated curiosity and fluency in emerging AI tools and capabilities

Which companies in Maine sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
WEX Inc., headquartered in Portland, is one of Maine's most active technology employers and has a track record of H-1B sponsorship for senior technical roles. IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook also hires engineering leadership with sponsorship history. Smaller Portland-based technology firms and fintech companies have also sponsored software engineering managers, though the volume is lower than major metro markets.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Maine?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in Maine, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer are another pathway, particularly for managers relocating from a foreign affiliate of a Maine-based employer.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Maine?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search software engineering manager roles in Maine without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because Maine has a smaller tech market than states like California or Washington, filtering by sponsorship upfront saves significant time. Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers in Portland and beyond that have demonstrated sponsorship history for technical leadership positions.
Which cities in Maine have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far the most active city for software engineering manager sponsorship in Maine. It hosts the state's largest concentration of technology employers, including financial technology and healthcare IT companies. South Portland and Westbrook, both within the Greater Portland area, are also worth targeting given the presence of IDEXX Laboratories and other mid-size tech operations. Outside the Portland metro, sponsorship opportunities become significantly less frequent.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software engineering manager visa sponsorship in Maine?
Maine's tech workforce is smaller than major coastal hubs, which means employers sponsoring software engineering managers are often larger, established companies rather than early-stage startups. The state's university pipeline, including the University of Maine system, produces local technical talent but limited senior engineering leadership, which can work in favor of experienced international candidates. Employers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Portland or Augusta wage areas, which are tracked separately from national averages.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Maine?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
