Which companies sponsor visas for software engineering managers in Ohio?
JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, Nationwide Insurance, and Cognizant have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for software engineering manager roles in Ohio. Healthcare technology employers like Anthem and major consultancies including Infosys and Wipro also file regularly. Ohio's financial services and insurance sectors tend to generate the steadiest sponsorship activity for engineering leadership positions.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering managers in Ohio?
The H-1B is the dominant visa category for software engineering managers in Ohio, given the role's degree requirements and specialty occupation classification. L-1A intracompany transferee visas are also relevant for managers moving within multinational firms. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status, which covers engineers and related professionals without a lottery process.
Which cities in Ohio have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbus generates the highest volume of software engineering manager sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its financial services corridor and growing tech sector. Cleveland follows, with healthcare IT and manufacturing technology employers filing regularly. Cincinnati's Procter and Gamble, Kroger, and a cluster of fintech companies contribute meaningful sponsorship volume, particularly for senior engineering and team leadership roles.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify software engineering manager openings in Ohio without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to focus on Ohio employers with active sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful given how concentrated the market is in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for software engineering managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B software engineering manager roles are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific metro area, and Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati each have their own wage determinations. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University also generate a consistent pipeline of international engineering talent, which means some employers in those metro areas have established sponsorship infrastructure already in place.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
