With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
Cloud Key Management Service (KMS) allows Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers to store and manage encryption keys as cloud resources. This is essential for enterprise and regulated industries (finance and healthcare) that require greater control over data protection. By mirroring familiar on-premise models, KMS enables customers to remain the ultimate custodians of their data. It supports secure storage, data deletion through key destruction, and granular access monitoring. While Google developers use keystores internally, KMS provides these same robust capabilities to external cloud customers. The role will involve developing both backend and frontend tools to offer cryptographic key management services for our Cloud customers.

Which companies sponsor visas for software engineering managers in New York?
Large financial institutions and tech firms account for the majority of software engineering manager sponsorships in New York. JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, Google, Amazon, and Meta have consistent sponsorship histories for engineering leadership roles based in New York City. Enterprise software companies and well-funded startups in the Flatiron and Hudson Yards tech corridors also actively petition for international software engineering managers.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in New York, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation requirement through its combination of technical depth and degree prerequisites. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in engineering leadership may qualify for the O-1A. Intracompany transferees moving from a foreign office into a New York-based managerial role often use the L-1A, which is specifically designed for managers and executives.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse software engineering manager roles posted by New York employers who have confirmed sponsorship intent. Rather than sorting through thousands of general listings, you can focus directly on companies with a history of H-1B or O-1A petitions for engineering management positions across New York City and surrounding metro areas.
Which cities in New York have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan, accounts for the overwhelming majority of software engineering manager sponsorships in the state. The Midtown and Lower Manhattan financial districts, along with tech-dense neighborhoods like Flatiron and Chelsea, are primary hiring hubs. Buffalo has a smaller but growing tech sector supported by state investment initiatives, and Albany sees some demand from government-adjacent technology employers.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for software engineering manager visa sponsorship?
New York City's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are among the highest in the country given the city's designated high-cost metropolitan area status, which means employers must certify competitive compensation through a Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor before petitioning USCIS. New York's concentration of financial services firms also means many sponsoring employers have established immigration counsel and structured processes for engineering management hires, which can support more experienced sponsorship workflows.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
