We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of data engineers that ingest, validate, monitor and provide that data as a service for teams across CBSSports and Paramount Global. You will join a team of engineers, product owners and producers passionate about delivering our fans the best sports experience possible. This is a hands-on leadership role.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Day-to-Day:
- Provide technical/software development leadership and architectural guidance.
- Advocate for and lead AI assisted development efforts.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Technical Teams to understand the needs of the business and deliver world class products to a passionate user base.
- Work with fellow group managers in planning and scheduling work.
- Work in a fast-paced AGILE environment. This should be second nature (TDD, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.) with evolutionary architecture and prototyping, experience with various databases and configuration/deployment/testing solutions.
- Perform hands-on participation in team coding, developing interfaces for web applications, services and future technology.
- Review developers' code, provide feedback, and develop team knowledge.
- Collaborate with technical and business resources, gathering and documenting requirements and formulating action plans.
- Present designs and plans to executive management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate possesses the highest level of experience in application development, software engineering, and application architecture. We are ideally looking for these skills and experiences:
- BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of related work experience
- 3+ years of team leadership and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced, AGILE environment.
- Experience developing and using GraphQL and Federated GraphQL
- Languages - JavaScript/TypeScript with knowledge of Node.js, experience in Java and Python a plus
- Experience with AWS, GCP or OCI
- Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes
- Deep understanding of current web technologies and trends, including Linux, Document DBs, Relational & NoSQL Datastores (MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB), among others.
- Excellence in problem solving, strategic thinking, and working in a team-oriented environment
- Experience mentoring developers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

You might also have:
- A passion for sports
- Experience with Git/GitHub
- Experience in building very high traffic web assets
- Experience in test automation
