Which companies in Kentucky sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Humana, Lexmark International, and Tempur Sealy are among the larger Kentucky-based employers that have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for software engineering manager roles. Louisville's financial and health tech sectors and Lexington's growing software firms also contribute sponsorship activity. Checking DOL OFLC disclosure data for Kentucky LCA filings gives you a verifiable picture of which employers have sponsored similar roles.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in Kentucky, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary ability may also explore the O-1A. Managers transferring within multinational companies sometimes use the L-1A, which covers intracompany transferees in managerial or executive roles.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of software engineering manager sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by the city's concentration of large employers in healthcare technology, logistics, and financial services. Lexington is a secondary hub, with ties to the University of Kentucky creating demand for technical leadership talent. Georgetown and Northern Kentucky, near the Cincinnati metro, also see some sponsorship activity from manufacturing and technology operations.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search software engineering manager roles in Kentucky without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers actively hiring for sponsored technical leadership roles in the state. Searching by location and role on Migrate Mate saves time compared to reviewing postings that don't specify sponsorship.
Are there any Kentucky-specific considerations for software engineering managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Kentucky's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B software engineering manager roles are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific work location, so Louisville and Lexington wages are assessed separately. The state's expanding healthcare technology sector, anchored by companies like Humana and Kindred, creates recurring demand for senior engineering leadership. Candidates with experience in health IT, supply chain software, or manufacturing systems may find their background particularly relevant to Kentucky employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
