- Build a high-performing, inclusive team by modeling OPPD's values, setting clear expectations, developing talent, and fostering a people-first culture where employees feel supported and empowered.
- Influence organizational direction by communicating PQ priorities to leaders across the enterprise, balancing reliability, cost, and customer impacts while advocating for critical programs and resources.
- Ensure operational excellence by standardizing event reporting, classification, and escalation procedures to improve consistency, transparency, and long-term system performance.

Which companies in Nebraska sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Omaha-based employers with established technology operations are the most active sponsors. PayPal's Omaha office, Charles Schwab (which absorbed TD Ameritrade's local engineering teams), Union Pacific, and Mutual of Omaha have all filed H-1B petitions for engineering management roles. Nebraska's financial services and logistics sectors tend to have the most consistent sponsorship activity for senior technical positions.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in Nebraska. Because the role requires overseeing specialized engineering work and typically demands a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field, it generally meets the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A visas through intracompany transfers may also qualify, particularly at multinationals with Nebraska offices.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of software engineering manager sponsorship activity in Nebraska. It hosts the state's densest concentration of technology employers, particularly in financial services, insurance, and logistics. Lincoln is a secondary market, with some activity tied to state government technology initiatives and companies near the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities are limited.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles offering visa sponsorship, so you can search software engineering manager positions in Nebraska without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by company size and industry in Nebraska, using a focused platform like Migrate Mate saves time and surfaces opportunities at Omaha's financial services and logistics employers where sponsorship is more established.
Are there state-specific considerations for software engineering managers seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska does not have a state-level visa or immigration program, so federal H-1B rules apply uniformly. One practical consideration is that Nebraska's technology market is smaller than coastal hubs, meaning fewer employers have in-house immigration counsel. Candidates should confirm early in the hiring process whether a prospective employer has sponsored before, as first-time sponsors face a longer onboarding process with immigration filings. University of Nebraska graduates in computer science occasionally move into local engineering management pipelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
