Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for software engineering managers?
Companies with established visa sponsorship programs for software engineering managers in Oklahoma include American Airlines Technology (based in Oklahoma City), Devon Energy, ONEOK, and Paycom. Larger enterprises in the energy, aerospace, and enterprise software sectors tend to have the legal infrastructure and HR experience needed to support H-1B visa and other work visa petitions for senior engineering leadership roles.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in Oklahoma, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary ability may also explore the O-1A. Multinational managers transferring from an overseas office of the same employer may qualify for an L-1A.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find software engineering manager roles in Oklahoma without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can narrow results by state and role to surface employers actively open to sponsoring candidates. This is particularly useful in Oklahoma, where sponsoring companies are concentrated in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and the broader energy and technology corridors.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of software engineering manager sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from Paycom's headquarters and a growing fintech presence, while Tulsa hosts energy companies and is actively investing in tech sector growth through initiatives like Tulsa Remote and the Tulsa Innovation Labs. Smaller pockets of opportunity exist near university research corridors in Stillwater and Norman.
Are there any Oklahoma-specific considerations for software engineering manager visa sponsorship?
Oklahoma falls under the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements, meaning sponsoring employers must pay software engineering managers at least the prevailing wage for the role and location, which differs from national averages given Oklahoma's cost of living. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University produce engineering talent pipelines that some employers also draw on, though international candidates typically enter through employer-initiated H-1B petitions rather than OPT-to-sponsorship pathways for manager-level roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
