Which companies sponsor visas for software engineering managers in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems, Oracle, Fidelity Investments, and Segway have maintained engineering operations in New Hampshire and have histories of sponsoring H-1B visas for senior technical roles. Defense contractors clustered around Nashua and Manchester are particularly active, given the state's strong Department of Defense presence. Sponsorship availability shifts with hiring cycles, so confirming active sponsorship directly with each employer is necessary.
Which visa types are most common for software engineering manager roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineering managers in New Hampshire, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a related bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer may also pursue this path if moving into a managerial position within a qualifying multinational employer. O-1 visas apply in limited cases where candidates demonstrate extraordinary ability.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most software engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of software engineering manager sponsorship opportunities in New Hampshire. Nashua's Route 3 corridor has historically housed defense and technology employers, while Manchester functions as the state's primary commercial hub with enterprise software and financial technology firms. Portsmouth sees some activity in marine and advanced manufacturing technology, though at lower volume than the southern tier of the state.
How to find software engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search software engineering manager roles in New Hampshire without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates, making it easier to identify employers actively hiring at the engineering management level in the state. Filtering by location and role type on Migrate Mate gives you a focused view of current opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software engineering managers pursuing sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects how prevailing wage determinations compare in real compensation terms relative to neighboring Massachusetts. Many employers in the state are defense contractors requiring security clearances, which can complicate or delay sponsorship for foreign nationals depending on clearance eligibility. Candidates targeting these employers should verify clearance requirements early, as not all visa holders qualify for the access levels these roles require.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineering manager jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
