Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Utah?
Adobe, Qualtrics, and Domo are among the larger Utah-based technology employers with documented histories of sponsoring work visas for solution engineer roles. Enterprise software companies concentrated in the Silicon Slopes corridor between Salt Lake City and Provo tend to have established immigration programs. Staffing-heavy or early-stage startups sponsor less frequently, so targeting publicly traded or well-funded companies generally improves your odds.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineer roles in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Utah, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with relevant degrees from Canadian or Mexican institutions may qualify for TN status, which has no lottery. Australian citizens may consider the E-3 visa, which also bypasses the H-1B cap.
Which cities in Utah have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of solution engineer openings in Utah, followed closely by Provo and Lehi, which together form the Silicon Slopes technology corridor. Ogden sees smaller but growing demand tied to defense and logistics technology firms. Most employers offering visa sponsorship for solution engineers are headquartered or have significant offices within this Salt Lake City to Provo stretch of the Wasatch Front.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it easier to identify Utah-based solution engineer roles where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards where sponsorship details are buried or absent, Migrate Mate surfaces that information upfront. Searching for solution engineer roles within Utah on Migrate Mate is one of the most direct ways to find verified sponsorship opportunities in the state.
Are there university or industry pipelines that affect solution engineer hiring in Utah?
The University of Utah and Brigham Young University both produce graduates in computer science and information systems who enter solution engineering pipelines, creating strong local talent competition. International students on OPT from these programs are often already embedded in Utah's tech ecosystem before seeking full sponsorship. Employers in the Silicon Slopes area are generally familiar with OPT-to-H-1B transitions for solution engineer roles, which can make the sponsorship conversation more straightforward than in less tech-dense markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
