Which companies sponsor visas for solution engineers in Kansas?
Kansas City-area employers are the most active sponsors for solution engineer roles in the state. Oracle Health (formerly Cerner), Garmin, and T-Mobile have H-1B filing histories for technical and client-facing engineering positions. Wichita-based employers in manufacturing and software verticals occasionally sponsor as well, though at lower volume. Sponsorship decisions are made case by case and are never guaranteed.
Which visa types are most common for solution engineer roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for solution engineers in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field and meets the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already working for a multinational firm may transfer on an L-1B for specialized knowledge. Some employers also consider TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
Which cities in Kansas have the most solution engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, which straddles the Kansas-Missouri border, generates the large majority of solution engineer sponsorship opportunities in Kansas. Overland Park and Lenexa are particularly active, home to several enterprise software and technology firms. Wichita represents a secondary market, with aerospace and industrial technology companies occasionally posting solution engineer and technical sales engineering positions.
How to find solution engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search solution engineer roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers with documented H-1B filing histories, which is especially useful in a mid-sized market like Kansas where sponsoring employers are concentrated in specific metro areas and industries.
Are there university or industry pipelines that feed solution engineer hiring in Kansas?
The University of Kansas and Kansas State University both produce computer science and engineering graduates that Kansas City-area tech employers recruit from. Oracle Health has historically maintained a university hiring pipeline in the region. The state's aerospace cluster around Wichita, which includes Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation, also creates adjacent demand for solutions-oriented engineering roles tied to manufacturing technology and software integration.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution engineer jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
