Which companies sponsor visas for strategic business development roles in Utah?
Technology companies concentrated in Utah County and Salt Lake County are the most active sponsors for strategic business development roles. Firms like Qualtrics, Adobe's Salt Lake City office, Domo, and Pluralsight have sponsored international professionals in business development and partnerships functions. Life sciences companies along the Wasatch Front, including those in the medical device and health tech sectors, also sponsor for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for strategic business development roles in Utah?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for strategic business development professionals in Utah, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. The L-1B and L-1A are also relevant for international transfers moving into Utah offices. Australian nationals working in these roles may qualify for the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Utah have the most strategic business development sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes corridor, which runs through Lehi, Provo, and American Fork in Utah County, account for the majority of strategic business development sponsorship opportunities in the state. Salt Lake City has a broader mix of industries including finance and healthcare, while Silicon Slopes is heavily weighted toward SaaS, cloud software, and enterprise technology companies that regularly hire for business development and partnerships roles.
How to find strategic business development visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify strategic business development roles in Utah where employers are actively open to sponsoring. Because sponsorship intent is often not stated clearly in standard job postings, searching through Migrate Mate saves significant time for international candidates targeting Utah's Silicon Slopes and Salt Lake City markets.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for strategic business development visa sponsorship?
Utah's concentration of high-growth SaaS and enterprise software companies in Silicon Slopes means many employers are experienced with H-1B sponsorship processes, which can make the sponsorship conversation more straightforward than with employers in states with less international hiring activity. The University of Utah and Brigham Young University also produce business graduates who enter the local talent pipeline, so employers hiring strategically often look internationally for candidates with specific industry experience or language skills that complement their market expansion goals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategic business development jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
