We are seeking a Junior MuleSoft Developer to support a federal government contract and contribute to mission success through technical growth and teamwork.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior MuleSoft Developer to support the development and maintenance of API-led integration solutions within an Agile team environment. This role works under the guidance of senior developers and architects to build foundational skills in MuleSoft development, integration patterns, and enterprise application support.
The Junior MuleSoft Developer is responsible for implementing integration components and supporting development tasks based on established designs and architecture, while developing the skills needed to contribute to solution design over time. This role focuses on hands-on development, troubleshooting, and learning best practices across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement APIs and integration flows based on defined designs and technical specifications provided by senior team members.
- Assist in translating business requirements into basic user stories and development tasks.
- Support the development, configuration, and testing of integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Anypoint Studio.
- Perform basic data transformation using DataWeave.
- Contribute to unit testing, debugging, and issue resolution.
- Support CI/CD processes and version control practices.
- Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting integration solutions in lower environments.
- Maintain and update technical and functional documentation as needed.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with team members and actively seek feedback to improve technical skills.
- Escalate issues, risks, or blockers to senior team members as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (must meet one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, OR
- Associate’s degree + 1+ year of software development or integration experience, OR
- High School Diploma/GED + 2+ years of relevant technical experience or training
Required Skills:
- Basic understanding of APIs and web services, including RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript).
- Exposure to MuleSoft, integration platforms, or middleware concepts through academic projects, internships, or professional experience.
- Understanding of basic data formats (JSON, XML).
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (or working toward certification).
- Internship or project experience with integrations or APIs.
- Experience with Git or similar tools for source code management.
- Experience working in a collaborative Agile environment.
- Interest in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
