Which companies sponsor visas for procurement managers in Virginia?
Federal contractors dominate Virginia's procurement hiring and sponsorship. Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics IT, SAIC, Northrop Grumman, and ManTech have all filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for procurement and supply chain roles. Large technology firms with Virginia operations, including Amazon Web Services (headquartered in Arlington), also sponsor procurement managers with relevant technical or cloud procurement backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for procurement manager roles in Virginia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for procurement managers in Virginia, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as supply chain management, business administration, or engineering. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship use the TN visa under the USMCA. Professionals with extraordinary achievement in procurement may pursue the O-1A, though this requires documented recognition well above standard industry credentials.
Which cities in Virginia have the most procurement manager sponsorship jobs?
Northern Virginia, particularly Arlington, McLean, Tysons Corner, and Reston, concentrates the largest share of procurement manager sponsorship opportunities due to the density of federal contractors and technology firms. Fairfax County alone hosts dozens of defense and IT companies that maintain active procurement teams. Richmond and Hampton Roads represent secondary markets, with procurement roles tied to manufacturing, logistics, and naval operations at Newport News Shipbuilding.
How to find procurement manager visa sponsorship jobs in Virginia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for procurement manager roles in Virginia without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location to focus on Northern Virginia's federal contracting corridor or other Virginia metros. Migrate Mate's listings cover employers across defense, technology, and commercial sectors that have active sponsorship programs for procurement professionals.
Are there state-specific considerations for procurement managers seeking sponsorship in Virginia?
Security clearance eligibility is a practical factor unique to Virginia's market. Many Northern Virginia procurement roles at federal contractors require or prefer candidates who can obtain a U.S. security clearance, which non-citizens can sometimes obtain but not always, depending on the clearance level and agency. Candidates on H-1B status are generally eligible to apply for lower-level clearances, but Top Secret or SCI clearances involve more scrutiny. Confirming clearance requirements before applying saves significant time.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement manager jobs in Virginia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
