In this role, you will lead the maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across diverse property types. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and safety standards are met.
Duties
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), and plumbing fixtures.
- Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately troubleshoot system faults.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and mechanical components, adhering to construction best practices.
- Conduct field service operations involving appliance repair, equipment replacement, welding repairs, and mechanical adjustments.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic instruments to measure electrical resistance and system performance parameters.
- Maintain detailed service reports, logs of inspections or repairs performed, and communicate findings clearly to clients or management.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems to optimize building comfort and operational efficiency.
- Support team training by sharing knowledge on HVAC/R systems, schematics interpretation, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems with a strong background in construction environments.
- Extensive hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment repair including refrigeration (especially ammonia refrigeration), boilers, air conditioning units, and plumbing systems.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing welding techniques, boiler operation, appliance repair, and general property maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics reading, HVAC design principles, and electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters.
- Field service experience working directly at client sites or construction projects involving complex mechanical systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
