Which companies sponsor visas for technical product managers in Washington DC?
Federal IT contractors and defense technology firms are the most active sponsors in DC. Companies like Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, Palantir, and Accenture Federal Services have consistent H-1B visa filing histories for technical product manager roles. Larger tech companies with DC offices, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, also sponsor regularly. Government-focused SaaS companies and cybersecurity firms are an increasingly active segment.
Which visa types are most common for technical product manager roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical product managers in Washington DC, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field. Candidates with advanced degrees may pursue the H-1B cap-exempt master's cap allocation. Some contractors also sponsor L-1B visas for employees transferring from international offices. TN visa status is available for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals.
How to find technical product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse technical product manager roles in Washington DC without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces roles at federal contractors, tech firms, and government-adjacent companies that actively sponsor. Filtering by DC and the technical product manager role category gives you a targeted list of current openings from verified sponsoring employers.
Which areas in Washington DC have the most technical product manager sponsorship jobs?
Most sponsored technical PM roles concentrate in DC proper and the surrounding Northern Virginia corridor, particularly Arlington, McLean, Tysons, and Reston. This cluster reflects the high density of federal contractors and defense technology firms headquartered there. Bethesda and Rockville in Maryland also contribute openings, especially from health IT and government agency contractors. The entire DC metro area functions as a unified job market for technical product management hiring.
Are there any DC-specific considerations for technical product managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Many DC-area technical product manager roles require working with federal clients, which can involve security clearance eligibility. While a clearance itself is not a visa requirement, some positions are limited to U.S. persons, which excludes most visa holders. Candidates should focus on roles at commercial divisions of contractors or companies without clearance requirements. Georgetown, American, and George Mason universities also feed engineering and policy talent pipelines that employers in this market recognize.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical product manager jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
